Abstract

This article deals with the rapidly changing situation on the labor market during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In earlier years, crises made themselves felt and had negative effects. COVID-19 was considered an economic shock that took its toll on the economy of many countries, and above all on their labor markets. Pharmaceutical measures in the form of vaccination have been undertaken until the development of the coronavirus ceases and the public acquires immunity. However, the main and very difficult aspect for the countries affected by the pandemic turned out to be the aspect of stopping the further spread of the disease, which consisted in shutting down the activities of the industries concerned. The applied interventions had serious consequences for the labor market and the enterprises concerned. The aim of the article is to present the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the Polish labor market. In order to present the essential themes, the work was divided into three parts. The first one deals with the presentation and characterization of the most important concepts related to it. The second part was devoted to the presentation of the sudden changes that occurred with the introduction of the epidemic threat, graphical presentation of data on enterprises in the pandemic era, and also referred to the difficult situation for young people who are looking for a job at that time. The summary describes the author's feelings regarding the actions to eliminate the difficult situation among enterprises and their employees, as well as drawing conclusions from the presented and very difficult situation for society.
