Abstract

The main aim of the work is to determine the importance of demographic conditions in regional and local development on the example of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The scope of work includes: objective: the Pomeranian Voivodeship districts, subjective: demographic conditions as well as local and regional, and time scope: years 2007 and 2017. The method of synthetic measure was used to achieve the aim. The study used the resources of the Local Data Bank. In addition, a literature study and methods of descriptive statistics were used. The first chapter refers to the conditions of local and regional development. The second chapter distinguishes demographic determinants in regional and local development. The third chapter presents the socio-demographic situation of the Pomeranian Voivodeship districts. The last chapter of the work contains the results of the calculations made. The work confirmed the research hypothesis, according to which the close location to the Tri-City agglomeration and the cultural factor favorably influence the demographic conditions.
